A Warm Welcome to Our Web Site:

Founded in 1989, Cowplain Bowling Club is located at the rear of Cowplain Activity Centre. The club provides a warm and friendly environment and prides itself on its welcoming approach to new members, with new bowlers quickly being embraced by the Cowplain ‘family’.  

The club has well over a hundred playing members as well as a social membership. New members are always welcome whether they are new to bowls or experienced bowlers.

With the support of the Sport England Inspired Facilities Fund, in 2015 the club was able to install an all-weather surface, which means the club can provide year round bowling.

Facilities at the club include the club house as well as a pavilion for the use of visiting teams

During the summer season, from April until September, the Club enters several teams at various levels in the local leagues, whilst also organising friendly matches with other clubs and its own internal competitions.

Because of the all-weather surface, the club is also able to run an internal league during the colder months as well as winter competitions for members.

Since its founding, many changes have taken place in the Club, and also to the game of bowls. One attribute, however, remains constant, that is the warmth and camaraderie of the members which is reflected in the welcome given to new members.

Our Vision is:

  • To maintain a vibrant, healthy and progressive club that thrives on providing enjoyable bowling opportunities to all abilities and for all ages.
  • To provide our members and visitors with a quality bowling experience within a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, both on and off the green.

Ample free parking is available to members and visitors either directly outside the club or within the Cowplain Activity Centre grounds.
